Hospitals and clinics providing Uterus examination by camera (hysteroscopy)

A hysteroscopy is a thin telescopic tube to look inside the uterus. Common indications are abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, bleeding after the menopause, frequent miscarriages, removal of polyps, removal of fibroids and the removal of scar tissue from the uterus. The hysteroscope is inserted by a gynaecologist into the uterus through the cervix. Images taken by the hysteroscope are displayed on a monitor connected to the telescope. Possible complications are heavy unpleasant discharge and bleeding - an ultrasound can sometimes be offered as an alternative treatment.
